First Aid Training in the North East
When you want to do the right thing, we help you do it the right way.
When a person lacks immediate access to a qualified medical representative or in the event of a fire emergency, first aid training enables you to administer correct first aid. It covers the initial response to a life-threatening situation before access to trained medical personnel.
If you are ever in a situation where you find yourself on fire, or injured because of fire, it is important to know what to do.
In the most common cases, this is what you can do.
Stop the person from running around or trying to put out the flames themselves. It will only make the flames spread faster. Drop and roll on the ground so that all of the clothes are off and away from the affected body. You can also drop to the ground and cover the face with a wet towel or blanket if there is one available. Cover any parts of your body that are not already burned with a wet towel or blanket, this will help stop the burning process.
But is it enough?... It’s not.
Burn injuries, sudden shock, choking, people with asthma issues, & bleeding are some of the potential issues you may face in such horrible situations.
